Fulton: Bridge closure; Cheshire Bridge Rd at Faulkner Rd with all lanes closed This is a 511 Georgia travel alert. 90 Day Closure of N Druid Hills Rd. Bridge

Georgia DOT will begin the 90-day bridge closure and detour of the North Druid Hills Road bridge over North Fork Peachtree Creek on Friday, April 26 at 9 p.m.

Traffic pattern changes will include:

  • One lane in each direction leading up to the bridge.
  • Traffic at North Druid Hills Road and the West Druid Hills Drive intersection will be managed using stop signs.  
  • One right lane will close on I-85 southbound Frontage Road from National Data Plaza to SR 42/North Druid Hills Road (leaving 3 lanes open)

DeKalb County - I-285/I-20 East Interchange - Daytime Pacing for Blasting 1pm-3pm Monday-Thursday 8 Weeks Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will pace traffic on I-20 eastbound and westbound to perform the controlled blasting of rock. The blasting will take place along I-20 east and westbound during the day starting Monday, May 20, daily from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The blasting work and traffic pacing may occur weekdays, Monday through Thursday, for approximately 8 weeks and is necessary to allow contractors to continue construction of the new westbound auxiliary lane.
Traffic will be held at the following locations for up to approximately 15 minutes:
  • I-20 eastbound will be paced from both entrance ramps from I-285 northbound starting at the Rainbow Drive overpass,
  • I-285 southbound starting at the Snapfinger Road bridge,
  • and I-20 eastbound from Columbia Drive to Panola Road.
  • I-20 westbound on-ramps at Panola Road and Wesley Chapel Road will be held during this operation.
During this time, motorists should expect brief delays while traveling the corridor and are encouraged to use their preferred navigation app for alternate routes. Law enforcement will be in place to assist with traffic control during the pacing. Residents may experience brief periods of increased construction noise for the blasting. Continue to check or call 511 for real-time traffic information.
