Georgia 511 is operated by the Georgia Department of Transportation

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is a publicly funded department that oversees planning, construction, and maintenance of state roads and bridges. But GDOT duties don’t stop there. The Georgia Department of Transportation also administers planning and support for the state’s airports and mass transit systems.

In 1996, the Georgia Department of Transportation launched Georgia NaviGAtor, a system that provides real-time information on road and traffic conditions. Georgia 511 now provides another way to access the information available on NaviGAtor.
